The Storm Killer

by: Mike Jastrzebski
----Time: 1935. Place: New York City. Crime beat reporter Jim Locke gets sucked into a quagmire of death, deceit, and danger when his actress sister is murdered – and he becomes the prime suspect. When he uncovers a pattern of similar murders, he is convinced that a serial killer is on the loose. But the police aren’t buying it, and it’s up to Jim to stop the madman. The hunt takes him from the grimy streets and smoke-filled bars of Manhattan to deceptively laid-back Key West, just as a killer storm bears down on the island.

Sudden Storms

by: Marcia Lynn McClure
Rivers Brighton was a wanderer—having nothing and belonging to no one. Still, by chance, Rivers found herself harboring for a time beneath the roof of the kind-hearted Jolee Gray, and her remarkably attractive, yet ever grumbling brother, Paxton. Jolee, had taken Rivers in, and Rivers had stayed.
Helplessly drawn to Paxton’s alluring presence and unable to escape his astonishing hold over her, however, Rivers knew she was in danger of enduring great heartbreak and pain. Paxton appeared to find Rivers no more interesting than a brief cloudburst.

Phoenix Dust Storm: Video of Doomsday Scenes in Arizona

These amazing pictures from the United States show a wall of dust moving through the city of Phoenix in Arizona. Sandstorms like this happen during the region's monsoon season, which is underway. They occur over desert land and can reach thousands of feet into the air, spurred by strong winds. The dense cloud dramatically reduced visibility, grounding flights at a major airport and leaving thousands without electricity. INCREDIBLE hail storm video!

NOW IN PAPERBACK! tornadostore.net Follow us on Facebook and Twitter! www.facebook.com @reedtimmerTVN May 5, 2006 - EXTREME hail in the Texas Panhandle. Find out the rest of the story in INTO THE STORM. Reed Timmer, a star of the top rated Storm Chasers Television series on the Discovery Channel, is one of the most successful and most extreme storm chasers in the world. His is a job that requires science and bravado, knowledge and instinct just to survive, never mind excel. It's a job some people would kill for. But most prefer to let Timmer take the risks while they watch from the safety of their own homes. Now, in Into the Storm, he takes readers inside the terrifying and awe-inspiring world of big weather. Into the Storm is Timmer's dramatic account of his extraordinary profession. Featuring stories of the three-hundred-plus extreme tornadoes, hurricanes, or blizzards that Timmer has watched ring-side over the last decade—storms that include the killer F5 tornado that struck Moore, Oklahoma, in May 1999; the unprecedented, devastating storm surge of Hurricane Katrina; and the little-studied but enormously powerful storm systems in places like Canada and Argentina. As a Ph.D. candidate in meteorology, Timmer is after more than just an adrenaline rush—his stories feature fascinating insights into the science of storms, and how the data he is collecting could possibly save lives. With a firsthand perspective on the storm-chasing community, Timmer also takes readers inside ...
